When I am in Iowa, I plot and scheme to be able to go to this conference, but living in Louisiana I nearly missed out: Louisiana Historical Association’s Annual Meeting.
I’m so glad I went. It’s quite pertinent to work I’m doing. The quality is good and the collegial atmosphere is excellent. As I drove to the conference, I counted three three people I knew would be there. Driving home I counted about thirty people I’d met. Excellent!
The bizarre note: the girl-child pageant setting up as the conference was wrapping up. It’s pretty odd to see five-year-old girls with wigs of curls piled half a foot on their heads.
