It's my birthday. Here in Louisiana it's 70 degrees F, and at this café people are sipping coffee out in front. Not me, I prefer the airconditioning inside.
I have been taking something of a holiday today, something I'd never get to do when I'm teaching. My birthday has almost always fallen during the final week of Cornell College's January term. No one wants to go celebrate; my schedule is usually too inflexible. Of course, the sabbatical does not change the fact that this year my birthday falls on Monday!
